The Civil Division is responsible for the service of civil papers in accordance with Oregon law and Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure. These documents include, but are not limited to, small claims, restraining orders, subpoenas, writs, summons, foreclosures, etc. Generally there is a fee charged to process and serve civil papers. State law or county ordinance sets the fee that is charged for the Sheriff's civil service.
Another function of the Civil section is administering the concealed handgun license program for residents of Wasco County in accordance with the Oregon Revised Statutes. In Wasco County concealed handgun license applications are accepted by appointment only. Applications are available online or at the Sheriff Office.
