2010 Wasco County Fair Grand Marshal

Welcome to the 2010 Wasco County Fair and Rodeo. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as this years’ grand marshal. Years ago I started serving Wasco County by volunteering for the County’s Board of Adjustment and was later appointed to the County Planning Commission. Now, after 32 years of service, I am finishing my last term as Wasco County Commissioner. It has been very rewarding all along the way.
My wife, Kay, and I have lived in Wasco County all our lives, graduated from Oregon State University and grow cherries on 70 acres in The Dalles. We have raised two daughters, Sarah and Jennifer, who grew up going to the fair each August to participate in 4-H in cooking, sewing, crafts, and showing sheep. It’s a great family activity. Back then, I looked forward to helping at the livestock auction on the last day of fair each year. Now that our children are grown and have children of their own, it can be even more fun to bring grandkids to the fair!
We enjoy going to OSU football games , traveling with friends, and entertaining our four granddaughters.
