Snow Zones
IN THE COUNTY OF THE STATE OF OREGON IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF WASCO IN THE MATTER OF ADOPTING ) RULES NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT ) OREGON REVISED STATUTE 815.140 ) O R D E R AND DESIGNATING ZONES IN ) WASCO COUNTY. )
NOW ON THIS DAY, the above-entitled matter having come on regularly for consideration, said day being one duly set in term for the transaction of public business and a majority of the Court being present; and IT APPEARING TO THE COURT: That ORS 815.140 provides counties authority to designate snow zones in said counties and to regulate the use of traction tires or traction devices in said zones. IT FURTHER APPEARING TO THE COURT: That the following snow zones and rules were adopted by Order filed January 7, 1998:
1. These sections of Rural Arterial County Road were designated Snow Zones:
a) Sevenmile Hill Road (from Chenowith Road to Dry Creek Road);
b) Cherry Heights Road (from West 13th Street to Sandlin Road);
c) Wamic Market Road (from Tygh Valley Road to Ross Road).
2. The Wasco County Public Works Director or his designee was authorized to erect flip-down signing upon the designated snow zone roads to warn motorist on snow conditions and the requirement to either carry traction tires or devices or to use traction tires or devices depending on the conditions as determined by Wasco County Law Enforcement Personnel or Wasco County Road Department Personnel.
3. Subsection 734 Division 017 of the Department of Transportation Administration Rules is by this reference incorporated herein and all definitions and requirements adopted herein. IT FURTHER APPEARING TO THE COURT: That there is a demonstrated need to designate additional snow zones. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED: That the following sections of Rural Arterial and Collector County Roads are designated Snow Zones:
1. West 10th Street (from Irvine Street to Sevenmile Hill Road);
2. Chenowith Creek Road (from Sevenmile Hill Road to Browns Creek Road);
3. Browns Creek Road (from Chenowith Creek Road to Wells Road);
4. Cherry Heights Road (from Sandlin Road to Wells Road);
5. State Road (from Sevenmile Hill Road to Marsh Cut Off Road).
