Brief Description:
On October 21, 2009, the Wasco County Court approved an Order abolishing the Office of Wasco County Judge and created the Wasco County Board of County Commissioners, effective January 4, 2010. Wasco County will now be governed by a Board of County Commissioners consisting of a full time Commissioner who serves as the Chair of the Board, and two half time County Commissioners, all of which are elected positions. In January, 2011 the Board of County Commissioners will consist of three half time Commissioners with the Chair being appointed by the Board.
On December 8, 2009, the Wasco County Court promoted Tyler Stone to the newly created Administrative Officer Position, effective January 4, 2010. Tyler Stone will assist the Board of County Commissioners in carrying out the administrative duties for Wasco County.
The Board of County Commissioners normally meets on the first, second and third Wednesdays of each month in the County Courthouse to conduct County business. The Board of County Commissioners is not a judicial body; we do not handle criminal or civil type cases.
