IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
The County Clerk's Office will be relocated to the Celilo Room (B04) of the Wasco County Courthouse beginning on February 21, 2012. This temporary move of approximately 6 weeks will allow for the remodeling of our office to bring it into ADA compliance with the Help America Vote Act of 2002.
Our telephone number and office hours will remain the same. Those desiring to do research are encouraged to call ahead for an appointment as we will have limited access to our historical records
Oregon Law requires County Clerks to conduct elections for state, county, cities and special districts; maintain voter registrations and election statistics; provide a method for recording and preserving land records and liens; issue marriage licenses and record domestic partnerships; keep the Commissioner's Journal; maintain County public records and provide a clerk for the Board of Property Tax Appeals.
The County Clerk's records vault is usually closed to public use three weeks prior to an election and one to two weeks following an election. The vault is used for Vote-by-Mail assembly and storage. We are happy to allow public research, however, please check availability prior to making a long-distance trip to search our records.
The County Clerk is not a part of the Oregon State Circuit Court System. For court related services contact the Trial Court Office (541) 506-2700.
