Wasco County boasts strong services provided by water, sanitary, electric, and broadband providers! Collected here is information on each of those utilities to ensure you are able to easily connect your business. 

Electric Providers
Three electric providers service Wasco County.  Power provided in Wasco County is very affordable, with significant local and regional generation through hydro, wind-power and other sources.  Each of the service providers below also provides incentives for businesses and residents looking at energy efficiency. 
 n-wasco-logo    Northern Wasco PUD provides power service in The Dalles, 15-Mile-Celilo, Rowena, Mill Creek, Dufur, Tygh Valley, and Wamic.  NWPUD is a locally controlled, non-profit utility that focuses on providing exceptional service at the lowest cost. WascoElectric   Wasco Electric Cooperative provides service to the rural areas of Wasco County as well as Maupin, Antelope and Shaniko.  The co-op has over 3,000 members with 1,685 miles of lines and ten substations to serve them.  For more information on service area and hook-up costs, please visit their web site.   
       
PacificPower   Pacific Power is based out of Portland, OR and provides electric service to the Mosier area as well as other parts of Oregon, Washington, and California. For information on Pacific Power, visit their web site  
       
NW Natural logo   NW Natural serves natural gas to more than 2.5 million people across the Pacific Northwest. They strive to provide safe, reliable and affordable energy in an environmentally responsible way to better the lives of the public they serve. For more information, visit their website. Additionally, they offer a discount program for gas customers whose household income is less than 60% of the state median income. Their brochure details more information on the program.  

Water & Sanitary Service Providers
Each community determines their level of service for water and sanitary.  If in an incorporated City, please contact that City for details. For unincorporated areas, information on who serves your area is located below. Information is only provided for areas with commercial services. 

  Chenowith     Chenowith Water PUD was created in 1945 to serve the Chenowith area to the West of The Dalles city center. The system covers approximately 200 connections in the Chenowith, Lower Chenowith, and Columbia Crest areas.   Barlow      Barlow Water Improvement District Serves the Pine Hollow development in South Wasco County. For details on commercial or residential service, visit their web site or give them a call at 541-544-2920.   
           
  IMG_20160913_152459141reservoir     Wamic Water and Sanitary Authority provides water and sewer service (in conjunction with residential septic systems) in the Wamic area.  To discuss hooking up to their system, email them at wamicwaterandsanitary@gmail.com.    
           
        Tygh Valley Water District provides service in the Tygh Valley area. Please contact them at tyghvalleywaterdistrict@gmail.com, 541-288-1005, or PO Box 102 Tygh Valley OR 97063 for service connection.  
           
        The Pine Grove Water District provides service in the area of Pine Grove in the southwest portion of Wasco County.  For information on hooking up, give them a call at 541-993-9975.   
           

Internet Service 

Wasco County has a diverse array of broadband service available throughout the County with robust fiber networks connecting us. To look up which providers report serving your location, visit the Oregon Broadband Map to search for your home or business address.  Additionally, consider taking a speed test at Faster Internet Oregon to help the Wasco County EDC and other partners better identify gaps in broadband services.
